039 - Raising A Family And Raising A Business - At The Same Time
Tuesday Dec 29, 2015
Tuesday Dec 29, 2015
Unfortunately, the business world is full of failed businesses, and "successful" businesses with failed marriages. There is an idea that you can have a successful family, or business, but not both. With 4 awesome "Mompreneurs", I discuss how we are not choosing to be a "really good Mom", or "really good at business" - we are choosing to do both!
If you just let life happen to you, you can very easily go down the path of being successful at only family or only business. But if you "take a moment and own it" - and are very intentional in what you do, you will place the proper value on family and business - and others will value what you do as well!
Today's guests are:
Lori Lee - Owner of Brampton Mompreneurs, Mother of 4 children
Sacha Pinto - Owner of The Wolf Consulting (www.thewolfconsulting.ca), and Mississauga Mompreneurs, and Mom of 2 children (listen closely for the youngest!)
Sara Clarke - mom of 4 boys, business partners with her husband in
Martin Clarke and Associates, bookkeepers and business consultants, and owner of London Mompreneurs
Grace Moores - owner of The Moores Group, a marketing agency that specializes in sponosrships for small businesses with a community based demographic. Grace and her husband have 2 children.

• Advice to someone starting out
Today's guests are:
Grace Moores - owner of The Moores Group, a marketing agency that specializes in sponsorships for small businesses with a community based demographic. Grace and her husband have 2 children.
Stephanie Goertz - owner of The Healthy Connection, supporting and connecting companies and people so that they can create a stronger and healthier community within Kitchener, Waterloo, and Cambridge, Ontario. Stephanie is also the Kitchener-Waterloo Mompreneurs Licensee, and a wife and mom of 2!
Vanessa Dinesen - Vanessa is the Peterborough Mompreneurs Licensee, and has owned and operated her bookkeeping and income tax business for the past seven years, while raising her 5 kids along with her husband!

037 - How Hugs Turned Into A Business with Maria Freeman
Saturday Nov 28, 2015
Saturday Nov 28, 2015
Maria Freeman is the founder of Little Jots (www.littlejots.com), whose motto is "Write Your Child A Hug".
In this episode, Maria details how her desire to add positivity to children's lives - stats show kids hear about 30 positive statements per day, versus over 300 negative statements - led her to create a product and a business that has helped families stay connected and changed lives for the better.
She points out that kids reflect what they hear and see - so it's best to give them something positive to reflect on! Love this woman :)

036 - Know Your Numbers - It's Hip To Be Square
Thursday Nov 12, 2015
Thursday Nov 12, 2015
Welcome to the "Know Your Numbers" series on Elaine's Kitchen Table!
You often hear "know your numbers" as one of the most important aspects of being successful in business. But what numbers do you have to know? Our goal is to go over all the important numbers, and tell you why they are important, so that you can feel confident knowing your numbers. It's not rocket science, and for small businesses it's not even advanced accounting.
In this episode, we discuss "spending a little to make a lot", specifically using Square as a credit card processing service.
Let me know what numbers you'd like to know about next on Twitter @chatwithelaine!
